SACEE was founded on September 1, 2024, born from the lifelong dream of its founder Vera Baltisser—to help underprivileged communities have access to quality education. From a young age, Vera carried this dream in her heart, but it wasn't until she returned to school at the age of 39 and completed her master's degree at the age of 41, that she saw the opportunity to turn her dream into reality.
In a bold and defining moment, she gained the approval of her thesis supervisor to change her research focus and topic, at the last minute to "Quality Education for Developing Communities in Ghana: Analysis, Application, and Implementation." The implementation part of her work became more than just academic—it became a mission!
The implementation part of Vera's work involved an NGO start-up to enable access to quality education in the seven villages of Alavanyo, Ghana, where she conducted her field research and the best practices serve as a guide (based on a framework she developed as part of her thesis), to help other underprivileged communities gain access to quality education. Thus, support for children—especially girls who are often left behind in education—would be realized, ensuring they too can benefit from access to quality education for a better future!
SACEE is committed to empower underserved communities in Ghana and other regions of the Global South by fostering access to quality education, equipping individuals with the tools and resources to achieve sustainable development, and partnering with stakeholders to create impactful, community-driven solutions that break the cycle of educational inequality, one community at a time.
A world where every community, regardless of location or circumstance, has the opportunity to thrive through equitable access to quality education, fostering generations of empowered individuals who drive sustainable development and positive change.
